Our Victorian terraced cottage is located at Wear Valley Junction just outside Witton-le-Wear and within walking distance of Low Barns Nature Reserve, a haven for bird watchers, and Witton-le-Wear station, if you fancy a trip along the Weardale Railway line. There is easy access to other local attractions such as Beamish Open Air Museum, Barnard Castle, Auckland Palace, Kynren, and High Force.

Engineman’s Cottage provides accommodation with a combination of traditional features and modern conveniences. The property sleeps 5 to 6 people in 3 bedrooms over 2 floors, has 1 bathroom and an ensuite, as well as an enclosed garden. One dog is permitted.

The cottage offers a king-sized bed and two additional bedrooms (one double, with smart TV and ensuite and one single with trundle), a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven, and microwave. There is a comfortable lounge featuring a smart TV and wood-burning stove. Outside, guests have a choice from an enclosed garden with outdoor furniture and bbq, or a private patio to enjoy an evening sunset. The property is just a 15-minute walk from the nearest village shop, and 20 minutes from the local pub.

An iron, ironing board and hairdryer is provided, along with bedding and towels.
