Dowfold House Bed and Breakfast, Crook, Weardale, County Durham Press Release 22nd March 2011 Weardale Bed & Breakfast wins TWO prizes at Love Food’s Weardale beats Teesdale to top spot! Weardale Visitor Network Member, Dowfold House Bed & Breakfast, of Crook, Weardale, has won TWO prizes at the Brilliant Breakfasts competition for Bed & Breakfasts, organised by Love Food across the Durham Dales. First, Dowfold House won the Regional Best B&B Breakfast in Weardale, Allendale and Derwent Valley. THEN, Dowfold House won the “Local Food Hero” prize for best sourcing of local produce. Said breakfast chef, Rupert Richardson, of Dowfold House: “We are so proud to have won these award. We see it as being not just for us, but for the high-quality range of local suppliers we have built up over the years. We think Love Food’s mission to build up awareness of local food suppliers in Weardale and the other Durham Dales – some of the best in the country – is so important to the future of the Durham Dales as a centre of real food excellence.”
Dowfold House’s approach to Breakfast We take your breakfast VERY seriously (but not SO seriously that you can’t just enjoy it…). This sounds a bit corny, but we really do seek out the best quality produce, and prepare and present it as well and as carefully as we know how.
