A warm and cosy cottage with attention to detail, lovingly renovated by the owners to create the perfect base for experiencing the beauty of the surrounding countryside.

A delightful bolthole in the heart of the village with so much to see, explore and enjoy on your doorstep. There are plenty of footpaths and cycle trails meandering through the beautiful Durham Dales and North Pennines National Landscape. You can visit Beamish Open Air Museum which tells the story of life in the north east from 1820 to the 1950s. The bustling city of Durham is slightly further afield and is home to the magnificent Cathedral, the university Botanic Gardens and Oriental Museum. Other highlights include the dark skies for star gazing, the abundance of wildlife and wild flowers in this region.

On entering this pretty and welcoming holiday cottage you will find yourself in the entrance hall, hang up your coats, take off your shoes and boots, your holiday has begun. Venture into the tastefully decorated lounge with plenty of comfy seating and Smart TV, and information that has been provided on things to do in the area. This is an ideal place to relax in front of the wood burner after a lovely day discovering this beautiful area. Head through into the charming kitchen/diner, you will find it fully equipped with electric oven and hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee machine and microwave, a great place to enjoy dining together and plan your next day’s adventure. Head up the cottage staircase to the first floor where you will find two cosy bedrooms, one king-size and one double. You will also find the bathroom on this floor with shower and WC.

Stepping outside you will find a small courtyard seating area to enjoy a morning coffee. Off the courtyard is a games room with bike storage, pool table, dart board and off to the right of the courtyard some stone steps lead up to the attractive BBQ area with table and chairs to enjoy al fresco dining or simply relax with a good book. There is roadside parking available, subject to availability, more roadside parking is available slightly further afield from the property.
