Belle View cottage offers a relaxing ‘away from it all’ holiday destination set above Bollihope Burn in Weardale with stunning views over the moors and the North Pennines National Landscape. The cottage is perfect for couples and small families, with lovely walks from the door especially for those with canine family members.

On the ground floor there is a well equipped kitchen including an electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The open plan lounge/dining room offers lovely views across the dales. On the first floor there is a king size bedroom and a separate single bedroom, plus the family bathroom with shower over the bath.

There is private parking for two cars and garage space to store guests’ bikes. The cottage has a small private garden but guests are also welcome to use the owner’s larger garden with shady nooks and sunny corners to enjoy. Walkers, cyclists and nature lovers will find the area an ideal destination, along with many remnants of industrial archaeology such as lead mining and quarrying. Please note the final section of the track is not tarmacked and is unsuitable for cars very low to the ground.

Set in the Durham Dales, this area has rugged upland, waterfalls, river valleys and wild flower meadows. Frosterley village is only two miles away, offering a small grocery shop and local pubs serving food. Within 5 miles are the larger villages of Stanhope, with the Durham Dales Visitor Centre, and Wolsingham. Killhope with its lead mining museum, Barnard Castle and many quaint villages in Weardale and Teesdale can be reached by car in less than an hour. Durham is only 18 miles away, Beamish living history museum is easily accessible for a day trip, as is Newcastle-upon-Tyne and the Metrocentre and the Roman sites in Northumberland, including Hadrian’s Wall.
